Project details

Adidas USA was established in 1978 to introduce the German brand’s products to the American market. It quickly gained popularity with its high-performance footwear, apparel, and collaborations with top athletes and sports teams. The brand played a significant role in shaping American sports culture, becoming a leader in athletic wear and innovation. Over time, Adidas USA expanded its influence across various sports and lifestyle segments, solidifying its position as a major player in the industry.

Premium’s origin began with Adidas, who was seeking a nearshore, vertically integrated manufacturing solution. As the industry evolved, major brands realized their core competencies were in design, sales, and marketing, no longer wishing to manage fragmented resources throughout the supply chain. They sought one source that could provide everything from fiber forward to a finished, retail-ready product. We built that solution to meet their needs, leveraging their years of experience and guidance to ensure our success.

We introduced and facilitated the implementation of Lean Manufacturing, specifically the Toyota Production System (TPS), developed in the mid-20th century. It focuses on minimizing waste while maximizing productivity by improving processes and increasing efficiency. The key principles include continuous improvement (Kaizen), just-in-time production, and respect for people.

Our facilities became a model and training center for their Scan & Pack System, which was later adopted by other top suppliers, including Hanes and Delta Apparel.

This collaboration provided a solid foundation for long-term success, creating streamlined processes and fostering industry leadership through continuous improvement and innovation.
