As one of the only vertically integrated manufacturers in the Western Hemisphere, Premium was contacted by Patagonia to help develop a 100% organic program. They educated us and included us in their quest for better solutions. Becoming part of the Organic Exchange—founded in 2002 as a nonprofit focused on promoting organic cotton—helped create a sustainable supply chain by connecting farmers, producers, and brands, raising awareness about the environmental benefits of organic materials.
Through Patagonia's efforts to reach critical mass, we produced their branded Graphic Apparel, and Beneficial Tees, a wholesale 100% organic blank to help smaller brands. We also made blended organic products for Nike, another of our Graphic Apparel customers.
In 2015, the Organic Exchange rebranded as Textile Exchange, expanding its focus to broader sustainability initiatives across the industry, including the promotion of 100% recycled fabrics.
